Trippin' on the Sidewalk

Synopsis

Walking along the sidewalk to one of Ostrava's railway stations can be a real trip for some. Locals and visitors alike highlight and curse its supposed hallucinogenic effects. "An interesting combination of a street probe, abstract associations, constructivist film with the montage equivalent of choreography. An original use of various cinematic means of expression in order to evoke strong sensory experiences in the viewer. It's proof that you can make a film about anything if you know why."

Radek Barták was born in Ostrava. He graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Production in Opava and is now studying at the Editing Department at FAMU in Prague. The films he has participated in have won awards at FAMUfest and also at the Mladá kamera Uničov.
