Gudrun Sommer

Gudrun Sommer is the festival director of DOXS RUHR and owner of fair enough, a consultant agency for sustainability in film and culture.

She initiated Germany's first documentary film festival for children and young people, doxs!, in 2002, a few years after the decentralized festival DOXS RUHR (doxs-ruhr.de).

Before that, she directed the Duisburg Film Week and worked as a curator for numerous festivals and institutions, including the Diagonale, steirischer herbst, the International Women’s Film Festival Dortmund+Cologne, the Goethe-Institut and the Golden Sparrow - German Children's Film and Media Festival.

Gudrun Sommer was a member of the Berlinale Jury Generation in 2023 and has since been on the board of the European Children's Film Association.
