ENDE DOCK: WHAT WILL THE NEW BOO ERA BRING?

14. 10. 2024

This year's ELBE DOCK festival was significant not only because of its rich programme and traditional awards such as the PAVEL KOUTECKY AWARD and the ELBE DOCK AWARDS, but also because it was the last one in its current form.

ELBE DOCK with the subtitle "ENDE DOCK" indicated a kind of transition of the festival into a new phase. Next year, you can look forward to a combination of two festivals - ELBE DOCK and the International Film Festival Young Film Fest, which was held in Prague for several years. It was an international film festival focused on world cinema for children and young people, with programme aimed at an intergenerational dialogue about film, film education and themes that are important in the eyes of today's youth, and which resonate even in those who are (well beyond) their age.

Thus, ELBE DOCK fans can look forward not only to the best short films or a rich supporting programme, as they have become accustomed to at ELBE DOCK, but also to programmes on critical thinking and audiovisual education for people of all ages, and much more!

The two previously separate festivals will become a big old-new festival with the short name BOO, which will take place next autumn in Prague. "I am thrilled that both festivals have been created and realized. I'm even more excited for the big change that awaits us next year in the form of combining the best of both festivals. Working with audiences, the best short films, programs focused on critical thinking, among other things, editing and music workshops focused on understanding meaning, audiovisual education for all ages from children to seniors, and much much more," says director Filip Kršiak.

The ELBE DOCK festival is not ending, it is just moving, expanding and transforming. Next November you have a lot to look forward to!

BOO!
